Make the *RP* tag optional?

Ok, so I was on the first night the Bearers of Truth as announced, and really wanted to join, but didn't have the means to get to Felwithe. I was going to join, but a couple things weres set backs, though i'n back on track now. I msged Jayelle with some questions and she informed me that there is currently no way to be a bearer without having the tag.

I find a big *RP* next to my name to be a bit distracting/counterproductive to roleplaying. I was wondering if there was any way to make this optional? I would very much like to be a Bearer, and this would just make it all the more sweet.

I should add that not everyone associated with the story wants to be connected with the bearers overtly.

You shouldn't be in the Bearers if you don't want to be part of them.
 
Turning surnames off is one thing, I guess. Doesn't really solve the fact that I can't display my name without seeing *RP*

Myabe if it was just the asterisk that wouldn't be too bad, just that nasty RP really jolts me out of the immersion. Bah i know i'm being picky as hell and should just be happy the bearers exist, but it would be a nicety :)

It's kinda weird though, I mean, your name floating above your head doesn't jolt you out of immersion? :p

My thought exactly! Also, when you get the mark, it's a visible mark on your cheek if I remember correctly. So it is actually much more prominently visible than your name. ;)
 
Any guesses as to what the actual symbol looks like? After all i doubt people go 'round with a giant *RP* branded on the side of their faces.
 
Hence the fact just an asterisk * there would be more than fine, but I just can't seem to dig the *RP*
