Magician quests

Hey all...
I just started an Erudite Magician and I've looked around Erudin and Newport, but can't seem to find any npc's that give mage quests. Am I not looking hard enough? Or will they not talk to me at all until I level more? As of now they don't respond at all when I hail them...

A good resource for quests is the SoD Wiki.

While applicable to all Erudite casters, the Mantle of the Apprentice quest series yields a very nice reward.

There's also a whole series of Erudin Newbie Quests.

I'm not sure if an Erudite can pursue this quest, but Oggok has the Conjuring Gems quest series for mages.

And finally, the Current list of starting guilds with a quest or quest line! post in the Tome of Knowledge also lists magician specific quests for Newport (again, don't know if an Erudite can do these or not).

Well I don't know what's going on but Lady Niall won't talk to me...the NPC's in my guildhall don't talk to me (even though the Tome lists the Erudin Magician guild as having quests)...and I'm already leveling past the effectiveness of the newbie yard quests. I haven't tried getting into Oggok yet, but as of right now I'm really disappointed.
