Not sure if the magician dot spells are in (elemental maelstrom and Wrath of Elements) but if they are, I suggest they be given a snare component. One thing I didn't like about them on live (I played a 65 mage) is that there was no use for them, DDs are comparable levels are more efficient, this making the spell useless. If given a snare component and only lasting 30 seconds, it would be a nice addition to the mage arsenal. Just a thought
