Mage tome questions

hello,
I Was thinking about creating a mage, but had a few questions about tomes. (Checked the wiki and other threads here and didn't see any info about it) The only tome I saw that specifically enhanced pets was a tome that increased pet damage by 5% per tome.

1.) Are there defensive tomes? (Increase chance to block, dodge, parry, etc.) Do they effect mage pets?

2.) Do direct damage tomes affecting the mage also apply to pets? (chance to land, increased damage, crit, etc.)

3.) Do melee tomes affect mage pets? (chance to hit, crit strike, etc.)

4.) Are tomes the only way to advance your character once you've gotten all your spells and AA's? (other then gear)

5.) Can someone direct me to a list of available tomes, or can someone list them? (saw a list in the ToK that listed 9 tomes; ignore this question if there are only 9)

There is a variaty of tomes available, not entirely sure what all the specific effects are. But they include boosting its stats, dmg output, etc.

2.) Do direct damage tomes affecting the mage also apply to pets? (chance to land, increased damage, crit, etc.)

Not that I know of!

3.) Do melee tomes affect mage pets? (chance to hit, crit strike, etc.)

The regular xp tomes from Ikisith do not affect pets, thats why they made pet tomes

4.) Are tomes the only way to advance your character once you've gotten all your spells and AA's? (other then gear)

Basically yes, that is why they were made! To give people that no longer had a use for xping something to progress with again

5.) Can someone direct me to a list of available tomes, or can someone list them? (saw a list in the ToK that listed 9 tomes; ignore this question if there are only 9)

The wiki should have a reasonably ok list, not sure if it has the latest archtype & class tomes listed tho.

By the way, since you say here that you still have to create the mage... I wouldnt worry to much about ANY tomes yet. First you should work on getting to level 65 and do a LOT of aa's (300+) before even thinking about tomes
