Mage only Mod Rod suggestion

Would it be possible to make a mod rod spell that is not castable on others and results in a no drop mod rod? This mod rod would have a better hp to mana ratio than the current one does.

I ask because the way it is now, the other classes use the mod rod without them having to have wasted any mana creating it, unlike the mage who casted it. Therefore the mage gets back less mana than the other classes. Maybe even give it a 8 or 10 minute reuse time (on the rod not the spell itself) to balance it. The way the wizard Harvests are.

You could have each level summon a rod with better ratio than the one before it.
 
I also agree with that. Elemental barrier is almost useless in my opinion, because it's mostly useful on raids and it eats a buff slot. It could give the +SV to all resists at least. I know mages are specialized in fire damage, but still, I think people would use it more.

Also the suggestions, made in that old thread, make me happy, but almost none of them got implemented. I already posted a message in that thread a while ago, but no answer.
 
Following this argumentation, I would also like to see me running a lot faster after i SoWed my group cause it was my mana :D

"Mostly useful on raids" makes it pretty useful in my eyes.

I suppose you have a point. But Mage mana recovery isnt as good as the other INT casters. Wizards have 2 Harvests (granted they have to waste two spell gems slots for it), Familiars, Manaskin/Spellskin; Enchanters have Clarity, KEI, JB, which are castable on others true, but they are really good and mages wont always have this; Necros have Lich forms and Manaskin/Spellskin also; Mages only get mod rods. ***edit*** oh and the FT3 staff. But you have to replace your primary and secondary items for it.

It was up for replacement according to that thread anyway. Unless Wiz's mind has changed on that AA.
