Recently this item was nerfed and it lost it's +15 undead bane damage. I was told that it was tested at doing 300 dps against Catacomb mobs. With all of my current raid gear, buffs, etc. I have only been able to do low 200 dps against Akheva mobs. I feel it has gone from being the premiere Paladin versus undead weapon to becoming something that will likely rot in the bank (or on raids).

This nerf took long enough to finally show up, and seriously, Lumina was unbalanced the first time it dropped. Lord Sseru is not a difficult raid mob.
 
If it doesn't strike you as odd that this Seru weapon was doing top end rogue dps *from the front* while you tank like a warrior, well then - I don't know what to say.

P.s. - It was 300 vs. the undead frogloks in Mielech C. How you ever thought that was balanced is beyond me.
 
Considering it works against 10% (possibly less) mobs on the server I figured it would be something unique for Paladins. I guess I'll go back to being 'a_random_tank_002" for groups and proceed to be mocked on forums.

Paladins still do DPS on par with monks against undead, easily. Doing 50% more DPS than rogues is absurd.

If you want some improvements to the Paladin class post suggestions. Being godly against 18% of the mobs isn't balance, especially if you're meh against the rest.

No, slay undead just adds to your max damage... like Flaying Strikes. It isn't a spell.

Sure you're not talking about the undead nukes here?
 
No, referring to procs. The Revenant's Gauntlets I had back in the day made the proc's do more damage. However, this does not seem the case anymore.

Focus doesn't affect other items anymore, no, just spells you cast. It wouldn't make sense for them to.
 
Does lumina now do no extra +% dmg to undead? As the "HOLY AVENGER" it seems like it should at least do a little....
 
my thought

seems to me like thats a hella nerf on a weapon that sounded like it was a weapon forged to destroy the vile undead.... could some of the bane dmg be put back in?

as a monk I have had no problem observing a paladin out DPS me on these undead monsters, these are the monsters that a paladin has trained hard to slay and it is his nitch.

Nothing against Americans, nothing against people who use improper grammar, but I'd just like to see niche be resurrected back to where it belongs. :)
