Lowbie mobs and xp

This is half suggestion/half question I guess. Since I'm new and haven't found the answer yet in the various locations.

Is it just me or is there a choke hold on xp at lvl7-9? Blackburrow doesn't seem to have enough mobs to cover a busy night. Reminds me of the old days (1999) when the zone was that busy on Live.

Are there other locations that lend themselves to that lvl range or do most people just slug through them fast enough to move on to other areas?

I know it's a minor thing to kill some light blues or whatnot until the lower level BB is more accessable but for balance I just thought I'd bring it up. Maybe a newbie quest or two could lead the 'clueless' like me off to Faydwer or wherever there are more mobs.

I'd suggest trying a different newbie zone. I grew up in Stinger's Bog - never ran out of mobs to fight. Once I got high enough I fought the mobs at the entrance to Halls of Mielich and the mobs right in that zone.
 
I headed over to Ogguk, around those levels and found Greenmist Jungle, Stinger's Bog, and even South Wastes to be excellent hunting grounds, with absolutely no competition for mobs. And I haven't even been to the Luclin zones yet.

If some place is too crowded, don't be afraid to venture out and explore other places. Just remember to take a sec and consider where you want to be bound along the way. ;)

If you haven't already, be sure to check out the excellent zone connection map which will tell you which zones are appropriate for your level.

I think I spent spent part of that time in Twilight Sea myself (which is pretty much a dead zone when I have been in there). Just have to find the island with the higher level alien creatures. It costs 2gp to get there but the loot you will get from the aliens will net you some money to cover that (they drop low coin and some cloth/low level weapons).
 
Thanks guys. I tend to forget about how easy binding can be. I still have that 'hate hunting in west karana because of the CR' mentality.

I'll probably come show my skimpy elven figure down there in Da Swamp.
 
Really? Wow, my High Elf is... had to illusion myself when I ran in to sell stuff and get more food from Mielech. Then of course I forgot to reillusion myself when I left and was beaten to a bloody elfy pulp by the wardens. Anyone know if doing quests from Grobb will lower my faction for Newport?

I read doing some quest for the port necklace to Grobb/Oggok will do that.
