OK. So, I finally figured out just where the dickens Ragarati spawns. He DOES NOT show on track. There's a small set of stairs that I kept going right past :p

He's supposed to be pretty tough, so let's organize as full a raid force as we can. I will no longer be organizing this, and Viniece is no longer on the participants list. Check the second page to see if someone else has carried the torch

The following classes were already covered before Viniece quit:

The following classes NEED to be covered to even think of making the attempt:
  • 2 Clerics for heals and buffs
  • 2 druids for patch heals. NOT dps. (if one of the druids has high enough cha, and wants to use tarhyls, we'll discuss it) (need one more)
  • 1 shaman for slow, buffs, debuffs, and more patch heals.
  • 1 enchanter for buffs/debuffs/cc

All the rest of the slots (0) (1? with no sham) can be filled with anyone who wants to come, limit 2 per class, not going to go having the sod 2.0 nerf going into affect. DPS is all I am wanting for the rest of the slots, we're lacking presently, we are OVER FULL on tanks, please do not reply if you are a tank.

Please post here with a fomelo link to the toon you want included in the raid (or just their name and class if you don't know how to do fomelo links).

Please do NOT post here if all you want to do is junk up the thread. this is about a Ragarati raid, not about X class, Y class, why a tank heavy raid is a good thing/bad thing, why i suck, or anything else. ONLY posts that follow the rules above, please.

Just an FYI, in case you didn't know it yet: any buffs from a toon >52 on a toon will disable that toon from participating. PLEASE click ALL buffs before the raid, if you're unwilling to, don't bother posting.

If you have been added to this post as being part of the raid force and are already 52, please put your exp into aa's until we have killed our target. I will repeat, imboldened: AA's ONLY at lvl 52 until we have killed Ragarati. If you pass into 53, you will NOT be able to participate.

As of the 26th of July, I am no longer going to be messing with trying to organize this raid. There was just no interest in it from any clerics.
 
Good luck killing him. More likely than not you're going to have a hell of a time finding decently equipped people that are 52 right now. Especially after so many people leveled from like 20 to 60 in the past week.

I do wish you luck though. I've always wondered what he drops.
 
Those strats you're reading are from pre-2.0 raid days I believe.

Depending on when this happens I may be able to level someone up near 52. As it is most of my guys are high 50's and 60's. I do have a 48 bard, 46 shaman, 45 warrior, and 44 cleric though.
 
Heh. That's an ancient strat.

There's no such thing as CH chain anymore, and hasn't been for quite some time.

Ragarti was impossible to defeat, and was then toned down about 7-8 months ago.

A full 12 person raid (max for an adept) shouldn't have a problem killing him if they're all 50-52, have at least par for their level gear, and don't mess up.
 
i did say not to junk up this thread, but kukov's post is at least somewhat applicable...

the strats could very well be outdated, but the classes i listed makes sense, i can come up with a new strat that works after the first attempt. as for finding the classes to take it: i understand completely, but even if this takes forever, I WILL DO IT! it's been a long time since i've ever heard of anyone attempting this frog. He NEEDS to die. kkthx. if i don't get my shirt the first time, i may not stick around to do it again, but i'm going to take him down at least once
 
Everyone so far seemed to have valid points in my eyes.
That being said, it means you have 8 people on twelve that will be on healing/debuffing/tanking. Will it let enough spots for the DDs?

You'd be better off with 1 shaman and one more DPS, tbh. You don't need two shammies for debuffs, and you certainly don't need two for buffs.

I'm slowly but surely regearing my 50 monk, Hasrutt. If he's equipped by the time you give this a go, count me in.
 
If you want, count my 45 pally in, he's 45 for now, but maybe by the time you actually pull together this raid, he'll be higher.
 
Depending on the date and time, Cluzith might be able to come, 52 iksar shaman. We did Freeport the other night with another Paladin. I haven't done an adept since Haunted Treant, so I'm overdue :)
 
Set a date and avertise it in OOC. If you do it before I get around to leveling Hasrutt any further, I'm in. How about a week night imo?

there's already so many tanks... i've never been a fan of tank-heavyness. always preferred to down things quickly rather than have lots of people to take the hits, but i added you anyways. you darned better be equipped for the darned best dps you can hope to accomplish, because you and i are both going to be dps pally's. we might be called on to use our stuns, i need to figure out how he hits and stuff in SoD 2.0... the old strats say that he is unlinked to his neighbors and that he's pure melee, his neighbors are both chanters. we might need to stun those chanters if they've been linked, we might need to stun him if he's been upgraded to a caster.

Morkus is going to be MT.

We have just two more dps slots, our enchanter slot, 1 druid slot, and both cleric slots empty now.

We don't need to worry about any non-adept adds. I'll bring along a couple of buffbots, and can use one of them to kill surrounding mobs right before we engage.

Might I suggest Sunday night at about 9pm PST, midnight EST, for a first shot? We can just give it a go with whoever we have present. We might not win that time around, but we'll get a good sense of what we need to do to win the next time.
 
I'm not normally awake that late. I usually go to bed by around 10pm EST. but i could try to be up that late if this is a good time for most of our core group.
 
You'll have to remove Cluzith from the list. I experienced a massive brainfart and turned off explock, hitting 53 :(
Not that it would have mattered, honestly. I'm currently working 12 hour shifts at my job and get home at 4:30 am, when there is practically nobody playing . Good luck with the Commander, and be sure to post screenshots of his frog carcass when it's done :haw:

i am also anxious to see how this goes, not positively sure, but we might have been the last to attempt him on Synergy, pre- Fusion, and he was way overpowered and i believe he had a decent offense nerf because he was raping us like no ones business since it went to a 12 man format.... so good luck guys.
 
ok. trial run did NOT happen, because i got el sicko and could barely keep myself awake or asleep and was spoon feeding myself an extremely brothy soup.

i am feeling a decent bit better now and am confident i should be mostly my normal self by tomorrow. (yay to fast healing!)

we need a new sham, since Cluzith went ding, but let's try to reschedule a new trial run.

I'd MAJORLY like to take this frog down within the next two weeks. so c'mon guys, sign up, it won't hurt anything, and you might get some nice rewards, since no one really knows his current loot table! (of course, if i don't get him down in the next two weeks, i'll still keep trying to get a raid force, even if i have to refill nearly all slots!)

2 clerics, 1 druid, 1 shaman, 1 enchanter. that's all i'm really asking for. WE CAN DO IT!
