OK I've heard a lot about this bug from players yet haven't seen a thread on it. Since I'm fairly new I'm not sure how long it's been around. However, last night I hit the 34th level with my druid and grabbed my new spells and ported straight off to frosthorn to check it out. It said something lilke "Now entering unkown zone" as the port ended and I just waited about 5 minutes starring at it waiting for the zone to come up. It never did. So I closed out my window and rebooted. This time I went through the character selection screen and got the everquest loading screen and sat at that for around another 5 minutes waiting to connect. Instead it booted me back to the server login screen. Grrr.... it did this over and over again. I ended up loging on with another account and asking around and it seems this is a common problem. I petitioned it anyway just in case, but have yet to hear any offical word on what might be causing it, is it being taken care of, and if so how long will I be unable to play? Could someone clariy this for me please? Thanks in advance!

This happened to both my "main" characters now. Also abunch of people were having the same problem in IRC last night, after the /chat patch. Some people were saying it had to do with some bug involving 8 slot backpacks and stackable items, so after about 10 tries when I got on Khalid, I dropped the backpack adn was able to zone 6 times with no problem. To test it, I picked the backpack up again and then zoned, locked up. Tried zoning, locked up. Then tried to log in abunch more times, was never able to get back in.
At this point I was fairly sure I had narrowed it down to a backpack issue on Khalid at least, however.... then I switched to my enchanter Leshar, zoned a few times and had sporadic problems. Then I died, and on the "spawn" back to my corpse, I couldnt get in at all, after 8 tries or so I just gave up.
