loading times

I just purchased and pieced together a new computer, built it myself.

Everything is running smoothly, with the video card I chose I can run everything on high settings and experience no lag.

The only problem I'm having is zone times on my main (Quila.) It takes me 18 - 22 seconds to zone on her, on any other I load, it takes 6 - 8 seconds. I've tried using a basic UI, and it's the same.

Any suggestions on what the problem might be?

I've noticed my main is a little slower to load than my alts.

I think it has to do with the fact that my main has done far more quests, has far more equipment, and has killed mobs in far more zones than my alts.

When you zone, that data has to be loaded by the zone. Takes time.

This isn't just alts, when I'm on any character, alts, bots or guildies. Most of my guildies have done a lot more quests and such than I have. Same deal, that one loads faster by half the time.

You said it was slower for your main than your other loads.

It's faster for you to load your guildies mains than your own?

Are you sure you're adequately timing things? If you load up a zone once, and then reload it for a bot, it's gonna be cached. I'm not sure if the client caches it or if OS caches it, but reloading the same zone twice on the same client is definitely going to be faster.

You may want to play with your settings (in alt-O) and lower various display settings. The lower resolution, detail, etc is, the less it has to load. I know, doesn't really answer the question of what's happening but I got nuttin'.

It's faster on any other toon other than my main. The guildies I play at times load faster than Quila by half the time. Even when I have Quila on my main window and a guildie in a background window. Graphics settings are the same on both, the only difference I can tell is I didn't customize a UI for any others but my main. But, I did reload a basic UI and it still does the same. It seems to only be on my main that zone times are slower.

I'm running on a dual core processor operating at 3.4 GHz, I've even tried binding my main to both cores, once on core 1, then reload on core 2.
