I'd like to suggest making lightstones into augments, or into a crafted lightsource augment for any slots that do work for lightsources (they don't work from the ammo slot.)
 
totally guessing, but changing an item or adding a recipe and item seemed to me an easier request since it's a pretty common change to make.

also making them work from ammo slot might mean pretty much everyone would have a lightsource without sacrificing a stat-bearing inventory slot. On the other hand, sacrificing a primary/secondary/range for a lightsource seems a little drastic, but an aug seems like a good middle ground yeah?

I always sorta thought they were intended to be used in ammo slot since they're ammo equipable with no other effect than being a light source.
