LFG Tool

The flat out worst thing about starting on this server is being alone. Solo is not really an option for almost anyone any class, especially someone unfamliar with the game. There are too many other options that are more rewarding out there. We need better marketing to get people finding us online and faster rewards to players who are under level 25. If I have fun right away I will keep coming back. If I get bored I'm just going to kick on the Xbox and play halo. The only reason I started was because I had two old eq friends playing and we could group from thestart.

I can really feel what this guy is saying. I'm not sure if the LFG tool is something that can be used due to client restrictions but I dont think that something similar but in a different way could be used.

I propose a system that is similar to the listsold system but for LFG.

Ideally this is how it would work

- The character I'm currently on does /CM LFG ADD 65 Shaman 18 Tomes, 65 Paladin 25 Tomes, 60 Rogue 35 Cleric LFG (any character I would like to play)
-- This adds characters to the LFG system for 6 hours

-Newbie looking for group can do /CM LFG List
--Diashan (displays the character the added ) - 65 Shaman 18 Tomes, 65 Paladin 25 Tomes, 60 Rogue 35 Cleric LFG

Or you can have the person do /cm list add 65 shaman 18 tomes (only adds one character up to 3)
Or you can have the person do /cm list add 65 paladin 25 tomes (only adds one character up to 3)
Or you can have the person do /cm list add 35 cleric (only adds one character up to 3)

- Once you found a group you can do /CM LFG Delete

-- Deletes all characters currently LFG

- Once you log out you are automatically removed from the LFG feature.

I personally feel this will help people who are on their mains but WOULD play their alts if they found a group / newbies to hang out with.

Having a /who command to show players not currently in a group might also be a little beneficial since people forget to use LFG or don't bother.

LFG listing seems interesting but I don't know if people would use that over just advertising in OOC. The /w command for people not in a group is interesting, as long as being /anon or /role could hide you from the list if you didn't want to get unsolicited group requests that could work out quite well. Most of the time anyone under 65 not in a group would like to be, unless they are a track bot or tradeskill alt.

I liked the system on liveand other emu servers (Storm Haven) where you could delevel or turn into a monster of a certain level or class type. It allowed me, a 65 Cleric with a couple dozen tomes to become a 37 Earth Elemental (tank) with my stats scaled a percentage to match the level/role. Exp gained in that form was translated to exp for your real level. Both people benefited, and had fun, and the lower level actually got a group.

That can't really work here without serious work, but maybe just something to think on as well.

i always hoped we would get a system like this. actually in live from what i understand, but maybe we could do a buff something like how nadox works or a character flag.

The /w all command for people not in a group won't fly IMO. 2-Boxers would be eliminated from most searches. Unless there is a way to defeat that mechanic.

You can kinda get a feel for who is in a group if you /w all <class\level\whatever>, then /w all for the zone they are listed in on the first query. But that is a lot of typing.

Where are all the FREE FULLY FEATURED item shop-less MMORPGs out there ?
Doesnt take much effort to find out about Cesspits and that boxxing a healer/melee is the way to go - instant reward, this should even appeal to the fast food generation.

Would help if they disable the anon function, its completly useless anyway.

Anon function is incredibly helpful if you have any sort of competition for mobs. Not to mention if you pvp flag people cant snipe you as easy
