Leveling suggestions at 55

I box a Paly/Druid both level 55. Currently I've been ripping through Freeport, but I'm so tired of that zone and if I see one more skeleton... well you get the point. I've read through all of the guides on the wiki and tried searching the forums for relevant posts, but I'm coming up empty. With the addition of Chloroblast and the pet at 55 I'm focusing on leveling some AA's at the moment - mainly because i have friends at 54 and I don't want to out level them. So I'm looking for some strong exp areas aside from Freeport.

The necro guide suggested EW and kiting Frost Giant Watchman - is this an option for me since I will be tanking and not kiting? How about EW in general, is it worth just killing random mobs?

Wyverfang Coast is another possibility that I've seen listed and the level might be just right for farming AA's, but I have a feeling there is something better for a 2 box combo?

How about Great Divide or Sorc's Lab?

Maybe Red Sun Peaks? There are lots of static spawns to play with, but last time I went there I recall the goblins trashing me. I have no idea what level I was at that time though.

Honestly, I'm just looking for a bit of advice to break up the monotony of Freeport and NRo orcs (for sashes). Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure there is something obvious that I am missing here. Good coin drops are a big plus as Freeport was such terrible loot! I'm mainly hoping for some veteran advice here as I am so unfamiliar with the areas in SoD that I am convinced I should be leveling somewhere that I haven't even visisted and/or thought of yet. Thanks in advance.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I haven't played in about 4 months and I remember partying there once and finding the exp/money quite good. I'll definitely check it out next time I play. Thanks. Any other suggestions?
 
Miel B (down by the Lord "dead side" (live name)), Dragon Necropolis entrance, Sirens Grotto on Wyvernfang side, Temple of Yaralith Forgotten Spawns (unsure). Some more when I get back from work.

Avoid killing gianst and dragons until you really need to chose a faction
 
Try harthuks in GD, theres so many of them ull never have competition. They drop great $$, just watch out for the mages' ds. They might be a little hard for you depending on how well geared you are, but I know you can do them for sure at 57.
 
Are you the same Jarl from Hell Unleashed.....? Crazy coincidence if not.. Did you come to SoD because a forum poster over there mentioned it? that might have been me :)
 
Another thing people usualy pass up is deep paw, greatpaws/archpaw area. at 55 most of the greatpaws are light blue probably, but if you farm through the archpaws and out through the lions, the xp is pretty nice, all dark blues, 3 named in the cycle for pp drops, and heads are nice for faction for newport to get the gate clicky. I highly recomend miel B also if you get bored, good loot there too
 
Forgotten Spawns could be hard at times, id just avoid it and Temple.
Harthuks are a great way to go if you want. lots of them and room to run around so several people can be down there at once killing. ok money.
Lasanth is a great place if you dont get eaten. I would try there. RSM always crashs on me but it should be a good place.
I lived in MielB from "deadside zone in" down to wherever I couldnt kill at a good pace. If your looking to grind AA personally I would go there till it goes 0% then find another zone.
Only went into SG once but its a great place. Try it out you might really like it.

Yes I am the infamous JarL (Immortal) from HU. I actually heard about this game from some old friends of mine that I was originally playing here with. Who is this though? I figured someone here would eventually recognize me.

Thanks to everyone who made suggestions, I appreciate it. As to MielB I have spent a lot of time down there already pre 55 with my old group so I'm going to try and avoid it for a while.

Characters were hardcore characters... Arakias, Arkorth, cant remember my druids name... Im sure you'll remember me though with the name tbdcmike on the forums!!!
 
Yeah the forum name sounds vaguely familiar, but not the char names. I didn't exactly play with anyone outside of my small circle though so that doesn't surprise me. Did you play at all this reset? They really beefed up the game. I didn't play for the first few months and no one had been able to beat Hell Baal on HC. Until I came back for 2 weeks of course. =)

Back on topic though - Harthuks were great exp and cash. Good enough that I haven't even tried anywhere else yet, but I'm check out some of the other suggestions today. I did venture into SG for the Silver Crown quest to collect Brughwar claws and can definitely see that place being solid in a few levels. For now though the kill speed just wasn't efficient enough for me to stay there. Thanks again guys.

I was the one of the forums that played single player over multiplayer. Had a 98 assassin/necro team that had beat hell baal (played 2 chars at once, alt+tabbing over).

Anyways, welcome to SoD and if you need any advice or anything send me a tell in game. Also, let me know if you get a hardcore group going in D2, I'd like to join.
 
Oh yes, I forgot about Dreadfang Spire's (Tower of Frozen Shadows on Live) first two level gnolls (even con at 47).
Also the goblins in Red Sun Mines? The Cecuvians in Warpstone Caverns, the Owlbears in Heartlands and generally speaking most of undercaverns, though UC might be painfull.
Someone said it already, but I had decent exp at the beack of Paw at 57. Many LB, but I think 55 should be right on if you have 100% of the exp into AAs.

Freeport is ok perfect at those levels, and you have a paly. It should be your bread and butter.

With a full group, we had tons of exp in the first few rooms of Kedge, although it was brutal and didn't allow approximations.

You might want to try the faetharc woods Geonids, Crystal Caverns and Sorc's Lab as well.
That's all I can think of.

Single player is WAY too easy then.

Lasanth worked out great btw to those that suggested it. As well as the Harthuks. About to ding 59 with 10 AA's (decided I wanted access to higher level content).

Easy? no... You have no idea the sort of time I put in to those two characters or how many attempts it took me to take down some of the bosses.
 
I played on the realm extensively for a very long time, in hardcore mode.

I switched to single player hardcore due to lag spikes and the 12 year old cattle.net inhabitants of the realm.

Try playing 2 characters at once to 98, hardcore, single player, let me know how easy it turns out to be!
 
Single player is meant to be beaten (that is why it is so nerfed). Stop comparing kindergarten to high school. Go play on realm and get Guardian - there is a reason only a handful of people have been able to do that. You tell me to get 98's? I've had multiple level 100's, been the first (and one of the few Guardians) every reset, and have built some of the strongest HC characters over there. There are no 12 year olds on HC. The HC community is so small and the kiddies stick to softcore.

Honestly though, I'm sure no one here wants to read about a d2 mod so let us leave this thread to SoD leveling. If you are so dead set on convincing me that beating HU on single player means something start a thread on those forums.
