I don't know the reasoning behind why you are making many items no drop, but from looking at most of the impending no drop ones they seem to be mostly twink equipment. Why not just give these items a level requirement instead? I know for someone like myself who is not into high level raiding and such I probably will never get to attain some of these items if they are unable to be purchased. With a level requirement you can still keep them out of the hands of twinks while still giving your average Joe level 60 a chance to get them.

I think the idea is that you have to actually earn some pieces of equipment through raiding rather than just farming plat and buying them. It'd be pretty crappy if you could be as well equipped as the second-best guild simply by farming plat and lining the pockets of the first-best guild.
