Level limits for zones/encounters

This was one of SOE's few good ideas, ie: setting max level limits on certain encounters/zones. One of my complaints about WR is that it is a haven for high level campers. Case in point, as I progress I have regularly seen level 60 players walk into Blackburrow, Warrens and Shrouded Isle and clean the place the out for hours. This totally screws the players that could actually receive xp in these zones.

Y'know, this would severely damage the economy, driving the prices of items through the roof and preventing most meaningful vendor purchases other than chanter jewelry for low level characters. The people it would hurt the most are those it's supposed to help.

I agree that high levels clearing places like the warrens is bad, but there isn't much motivation for them to do so; really, they shouldn't be in there because it's a huge waste of their time.

Most of the higher levels I saw were farming idols for the Erudin Bracer quest. They usually stuck to the mob that dropped the item though unless their alt was getting exp.

I can't name a day so far where I haven't seen a 40-60 character going through Warrens or Shrouded Isle destroying everything while my 25 warrior was there working for experience.

There is a valid point to the argument.

As for others arguments of driving prices through the roof, not really, because there are plenty of other zones where these higher level characters can get cash just as effectively, and if they were hunting in higher level zones, there'd be MORE better items ON the market, thus lowering their rarity a bit and their price.

Yes, there'd be more better items on the market. There would also be fewer shitty items on the market. Even if the price of high-teir stuff drops a little, low end stuff will skyrocket because there won't be nearly as much of it. If high level chars didn't camp the whirling paw staff, how many people who would want it could ever afford it? The high end stuff will still cost more than the low end stuff, and will probably still be outside the price range of the people you're trying to help.

Low end stuff wouldn't skyrocket it would just be looted and *gasp* actually worn by the people camping the area and not instantly transferred to a vendor for resale. Every night I am in Yaralith there is 1 high level running around killing all the named/ph's only and leaving the rest of the mobs up. Thats all fine and well but if the nameds/ph's were left alone then maybe we could get a group together to take on a bigger area and get some of that loot for ourselves instead of paying someone else to screw us over.

An easy way would be to make a named / loot dropping mob immune to anyone that it is green to for the first 5 minutes after it spawns, that would allow an appropriate level group to get first crack at something before a level 65 blows past them and ganks it before they can even get a chance to engage the target.

The ways that players can fix this is to stop paying people to farm greens, and go out and camp the items yourself.
