The level 54 cleric hammer pet, first of all, adds a great amount of DPS power (about 30 ish dps, which on top of a battle cleric w/ yaulp v and ancient hammer gives about 80 ish dps depending on mobs ac) and I appreciate its implementation. However, because this pet literally has about 100 hp, is unhealable, unbuffable, and pet commands do not effect it's actions, it dies practically ever fight.
Now, anyone who isn't actively playing a battle cleric (healing, auto attacking, yaulping, attacking with pet) may be thinking "whats the big deal, it costs practically no mana summon another one." Well, sure, but when I XP (raid too) I use all of my spell slots and simply don't have room to keep the pet summon up. Again, one would think that I could just drop a spell and get the pet up and then replace the pet spell with whatever I need it for. Well doing this after every mob (xp grp not raid), basically every 30-40 seconds max, is not only annoying; it preoccupies me from healing, also from fulfilling my title of "battle cleric" by removing me from the first 20-30 seconds of a 30-40 second fight.
My suggestion would be to simply allow a cleric to buff his/her pet. Allowing me to toss an Aego on my hammer would completely resolve this situation and would do nothing but prevent us from having to drop a spell, get the pet up, summon it, drop the spell, get the other spell up and then hope the mob isnt dead before we can attack.
Thanks for reading.
