Lately when I two box I have been lagging too badly to even move around. This is new..just 3 days ago I could two box with no problems... Since then I have added more RAM and a new video card, but it is still lagging... This lag is new..and it came before I changed anything..any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Do some cleanup on your system...

Delete temp files, run a few spyware checkers, even defrag your hard drive. If you have a virus checker, maybe disable it while playing once. Also install all your OS updates, its patching time again, it could be your system was downloading some microsoft updates in the backround.

Just a few tips...

Actually at exactly that same point, mine went to crap too.

Like, it was running beautifully and then WHAM. I can tell you that I work in IT, I sorta know my machine and what I'm doing usually... and tweaking everything, killing processes, etc... I cannot get it to run well at all.

Also I've made sure new textures are off and EVERYTHING listed under options that says it'll make it perform better, faster, use less memory, etc... I've made it run as minimal as possible. It was literally a night and day difference from the prior session to the one about 3 days ago.

Can anyone else attest to this? I've ALWAYS had the issue, and was wondering if someone found a fix to this if there's a fix for my (ongoing) 2 box video lag problem.

For a temp fix i've been using /viewport 0 0 1 1, which will basically make the 2nd box black screen but can still operate (mostly only good if you have good hotkeys/spells). If you need to pull or something, then you're out of luck...

Well in my case I can honestly say that /viewporting does nothing. I did find one small thing that's a bit surprising to me.

I usually box with both clients on top of each other on one monitor and I alt+tab back and forth. That, currently, is unplayable. However, if I move one of the clients over to the second monitor, it does run better. Still get lag but overall it's doable. This makes no sense to me, but it is what it is.

Not sure if your useing EQ play nice or not, my system was some how useing all 100% of my CPU when i wasnt useing EQ play nice for some odd reason

Yeah, without EQPN, my problem is amplified a ton. I know ubatch IRL so I can speak for him that he is always using EQPN too and while it sucks more w/o it, using it doesn't fix the issue completely.

It's really strange. Both clients will sit at 200-300mb out of my 4gb RAM, but 1 client will run at like 10% CPU, add 2nd client and both are at 40-50 for me. Also speaking for ubatch, I don't believe that's his problem... his is video lag, and mine is cpu being just DESTROYED.

I am have the same problem as well and yes all started about 3 or 4 days ago. I seems much worse the more crowded the zone is.

I can tell you that mine started shortly after Oct 15th Windows update patches. Those same patches crippled one of our servers at work. I rolled them back, didn't help much, and they reinstalled after that... just a heads up.
