So I was meding up in Lasanth tonight, trying to get my Firebrand of Agoyn drop when suddenly my Mage dies.

No warning... no dots... no mob... no casting or any spell effect or abilites.
Was at max Hps when it happened to.

Just upped and died...

Message was...

Your Pack of Fire affect Ibuki has worn off
You have been knocked unconious
You have been Slain!
You have experience debt blah blah blah...


I thought of Bug reporting it.. but its the first and only time I have ever seen this happen. Not much I can say that would be of any help... I die for no reason. Won't give GMs any clue as to what happened.

Anyone else just suddenly die for no reason?
 
Did you have portal venom on ? The spell parser shows that when portal venom runs out after 30 minutes it casts a 5000 dd spell on you. That would be my guess as to what happened.
 
I've heard (though no clue if it's true) that being bound in a restricted area (say, a house) at night can get you killed regardless of where you are... Could it be that? Or is that a SoDUL?
 
There is a very random and very rare bug where the client just determines that you're dead for no particular reason. Probably what happened.

Save for the who getting money... or a free trip, well I did get a free trip back to my bind point.
 
The day before yesterday, my druid was in the Halls of Mielech trying to swim (swimming 134) to the froglok nurse (for the MQ), when she got caught on the wall somehow (in the water still, but not underwater). I camped her and came right back to see if that got her loose. A couple of seconds after I logged back in on her, I was loose and started to swim again to the nurse. All of a sudden, I fell and got 20,000 damage (killed me naturally). I'm not sure why or how I managed to fall when I was swimming, but there you go. :psyduck:
 
Once I died when I zoned from redsun into....uhhh....lansath?(najena) and when I spawned I was in oggok. I thought "oh, well that kinda sucks" as I ran up the ramp to zone into MoP, when I was attacked by a pack of human models which had the names of the monsters in lansath. The MoP portal didn't work so I ended up getting smashed. I guess for some reason the client thought I was in oggok, and the server thought I was in lansath. One of the stranger deaths I have had.
 
Monday night I died during a raid and respawned in Erudin Palace with all the NPCs missing (during daytime) and no doors visible. I thought it was weird so I tried zoning out of the Palace into Erudin, and when I did I ended up in the middle of Everfrost.

I just figured while I went AFK my character got into his stash of PCP or something.
