Kazel Scouts and Auto Rooting

The War that Happened last week went pretty well, 12 defenders held Goblin Skull Mtns pretty well until the last wave smashed us.

However something that came up and got a never ending spam of curses and greif.

Roots

The Kazel Scouts and even some of the foot troopers all seem to root, and not just once in awhile but A LOT. If you get on their aggro list, expect to be rooted. I realize this is probley in place to prevent certain types of kiting tactics, but this root last a long time and you can quickly find your Defending force rooted all over the place and helpless as they watch some rooted player get betean down by 4+ kazel.

Would it be possible to change the Root they use to something with a bit less duration?

I'm curious to see how they pick their targets to root, because I've been rooted quite often without being then attacked. And I was away from the main brawl, so it wasn't even a case of a tank losing aggro for a split second, just enough for me to get rooted. We also had a level 30ish running through the zone, getting rooted in the middle of nowhere, then hiking back unscathed when the root wore off.

The AI does seem a bit weird on them, but maybe Kaezul uses some wild tactics in their boot camps.

Most mobs that can cast, will smart cast on you. Just try fighting a cleric mob sometime. You'll notice that even though he stays on the tank, he'll stun your casters when they start trying to cast something.

Not that this at all explains how they decide to root someone.

We are humans.

Humans > Computer

if you see him casting , just bash :D

Unfortunately bash is a melee skill that only hits one target so bashing 50 mobs of varying distances from yourself is not a feasible solution, no matter how much better than a computer you may be.

Aoe Stun, happy?

cause every class has an aoe stun, and it hits only so many targets... Sometimes it is ramdom, at other times it is not. Just gotta deal with it, and move on
