Just one more 1001

Gilton

Dalayan Beginner
After reading every ones 1001s i still have not found any fixes that work...any help is got at this point. What i have done is reloaded a friends Dalaya (it does work on his comp) i have tried it with and with out fire wall same error, i have no router, eqhost looks right, i have a single processor. The game slowes down to a crawl when i hit enter after i put in my user name and password in . looks like it might be timing out for taking to long.

Ok, I have tryed to help Gilton with this problem and didn't have any luck ether.

We even went so far as to Wipe out all Shards/EQ files on his computer. We copyed all the files from my computer of Shards/EQ since I can log into shards and play. Copy those files into his computer and pop... still error 1001

So the only thing it came be is something on his computer is blocking him from the Shards login. But We are not computer savy, we know enof to install, do some problem solveing but now we are stuck. Any subjest on what might be causeing this would be very very helpful.

on the SoD patcher click adv and disable EQW see if that works. your first post made it sound like a window problem

Have you tried disabling the windows built-in firewall?
What other firewalls are you using?
And what ISP do you have, and have you tried talking to them?

I have McAfee for a fire wall I have tried with it disabled...did not know windows firwall would reasert itself when that was turned off, any way McAfee was told to let the program throu and i gave it ports 5999 and 5997.
Verizon is my ISP, nope have not talked to them yet. Is there any way that a DSL could be the problem? My other games work fine COH, NWN, EQ (before i came to dalaya).

only connection not supported by online gameing is Sat systems, the lattency between server and client would be to large.

although i think a tracert might be helpful if you could provide us with that

Online gaming on sat is possible, I've seen it plenty of times, though it's not at all recommended due to the latency.

I didn't understand what you said about your windows firewall. Have you or have you not tried with both firewalls disabled/shut down/whatever at the same time? Also, could you post your dbg.txt?

Ok...have not done a tracert yet but i did try to get in to dalaya with my old dialup from earthlink and the same thing happend, will have to try the tracert when i am home from work. Now for the dbg.txt here you go hope this helps.

Please try the following.

1) Delete your dbg.txt
2) Disable both firewalls.
3) Try logging in (ONLY ONCE).
4) Copy paste whatever is in your dbg.txt (please use either the [] quote or code tags)

Rinse and repeat with your normal firewall enabled. And feel free to put both in the same post, but in different quote/code tags.

Did it really take 6,5 hours to do one log on, or did you not delete the file first?

And, please use quote/code tags, such as:

I cleaned out this thread. You posted your dbg.txt from OVER 6.5 hours. That means you didn't do what I asked you. The one you posted without firewall is good enough, though. Also, do you just happen to have two EverQuest install directories?

No i dont have the game twice on my computer and here is a clean dbg.

The only thing i can think of is if my DSL modem is doing more than i can see. It is a westell 6100. I did some digging and
manufacturer says this modem says it has a built in router, this is news to me. I did a search with router in mind here and
found some of your trouble shooting and a web site(192.168.0.1) it did not work, so i will consult the manufater. Any hints of what i am looking for in the booklet it came with?
