Just came back, getting weird slow down

I ran the game today and it booted up in 640 x 480. It ran fine but.. it's 640 x 480. When I increase the resolution I get a strange slow down issue. My mouse movement and any movement in the game kinda lags and is a little jumpy. Kinda like my computer is having trouble playing the game... which is funny.

I use an AMD Athlon 64 3700+, ATI Radeon 128mb 1300x, latest drivers installed. Windows XP Home
 
Unchecking EQW while starting up and playing full screen fixes the issue.. I'd prefer playing windowed though
