The paladin murk spell and rebel spell are Too identical in function with the murk spell being inferior in almost every way. Could the murk spell be replaced with something, anything, different? As it is the spell seems both lacking and redundant.

Descending Judgement
Mana cost 510
range 150
cast time 1 sec
recast 10 sec
-50 magic res adjust
300 damage 1 sec stun

This spell will rain on 2 targets for 3 waves and will not hit you as long as there are 2 other targets for it to hit.

Cast Judgment
Mana cost 250
range 200
cast time 1.5 sec
recast 24 sec
no resist adjust
250 damage 1 sec stun

This spell hits 3 targets always including you if you are close enough.

The only thing cast judgment has going for it is that it hits one more target, but because of the recast I could already be raining on 4 targets before I could cast it again. The main problem is that with limited spell gems and both of these spells fulfilling the same niche of ranged "several target" agro, I will never mem cast.

There are tons of situations where a tank would benefit from being able to aggro multiple mobs at range.

And we already have a spell that has: faster cast time, faster refresh, better resist adjust, hits for 3 waves as opposed to one, can be cast up close as well, and does more damage. There are some situations where you want to hit multiple mobs at range, but using Cast Judgment when you have Descending Judgement is like using flash of light(level 9) over blinding light(level 55). And it is not that there are never going to be uses for the spell, the problem I have is that it is identical in function to the other spell, I don't know of any other classes that get nearly the same spell from rebels and murk. This is very diheartening since each spell takes a fair amount of time to get and getting the same thing twice is not rewarding for the effort.

I could see a resist adjust on this spell but I have to say the redundant/lacking claims you're making are your problem and not the spell's.

i got both of these spells recently on my paladin (Lindstrom) . it is kind of disappointing how similar these spells are but i understand that its a new line (judgment) for paladins. even though descending judgment is a mana hog i can't see any reason to memorize cast judgment for ranged multiple mob range tag or aggro situations. its just not that useful to deal damage to yourself beyond the first cast, even though the cast time is shorter than words of the crusader. unfortunately its not worth the spell gem as is.

I just want to reiterate, I use descending judgement from time to time, for extra dps, a little extra ranged agro when kiting or when mobs come in pairs. But, I have never once found cast judgement useful. It is simply not worth the spell gem slot when other spells work better. Descending judement is a situational spell, cast judgement simply has no use that I have found.
