Item Suggestion: Elemental Sword/staff/etc

I was just reading a post in regards to the elemental damage bonus that some weapons have (+3 cold damage for instance).

I was thinking it would be pretty neat if there was a set of weapons that have nothing but elemental damage. For instance:

Off of a raid mob, of course

Elemental Staff of Loshtar

Dam 1
Delay 30
+10 Cold
+10 Fire
+20 Ice
+20 Magic
(various other stats)

I think it would be pretty neat myself, seeing a 1/30 drop off of tough raid mob, but then to realise it can be up to 61/30 if all resistance checks are missed. This could actualy be used to balance out top end gear. I know no one wants to see live's "300/12" damage staves running rampant, because every expansion requires one upping the previous expansion's loot. Using elemental damage bonuses to one up the previous, easier content, could be considered instead of just a baseline damage increase.

I'm not sure if this make's sense at the moment, I'm pretty tired having just gutted a house (working in my neighborhood post-katrina). If this needs any clarification, just respond here and I'll see if i can clarify. :)
 
It's an interesting idea, sort of like that fist from Misery that's really good vs-undead--you'd keep the Ice Beatstick in a bag till you went to FG. It sounds like it'd be more appropriate for one-grouped drops than for raids, though.
 
That's cool, but I was thinking about having multiple elemtal damage types on 1 weapon, instead of 1/80 with +90 cold it could be 1/80 +30 cold +30 Fire +30 Magic

I just think it'd be kind of interesting, and give shamen, enchanters, and magicians a reason to debuff an exp mob. :)
