Issues with 1.80 patcher

I have installed EQ titanium and downloaded the patcher. I have disabled my firewalls and antivirus. When I load the patcher it always waits a few minutes before returing to me the error message Unable to connect with diagnostic information! Please check you internet explorer settings and ensure you can connect to http://shardsofdalaya.com, and rerun the patcher.

My IE have no problem pulling up the site or downloading the patcher file.

I use a belkin router and have no firewall or antivirus running.

Upon reading the patcher log it has the following error message:

Starting SoD Patcher version 1.80 at 10/11/09 - 23:18:03
Retrieving patcher CRC.
ERROR! Unable to open URL http://www.shardsofdalaya.com/patcher2/patchlist.php?file=patcher
WARNING! Checksum retrieved for patcher is incorrect length 0. Ignoring new version.
ERROR! Unable to open URL http://www.shardsofdalaya.com/patcher2/patch_diag.php?code=0

I have searched the fourms and done verbatim as the guides have listed what to do and I am still unable to get it to work. Any advice would be appreciated.

Also I have downloaded the manual full patch and applyed it. The shards patcher still wont run and i downloaded eqwin and tryed to run the game. I get the server is down message... I beleive my eqhosts.txt file is wrong... what should this setting be?

Try this thread

The hosts file info is there, also be sure you have .net installed.
 
Are you sure you're using Internet Explorer to access www.shardsofdalaya.com? Firefox, or other browsers, use different internet settings. Every case I've seen where the patcher can't connect, IE can't connect either, since they use exactly the same settings and library routines.

Also, .net is not needed for the patcher anymore.
