Is Traekoth the Ancient's RNG truely that?

We've killed him 7 times so far, and this is what he's dropped (on his 12 item drop table)

1.)
* Barbed Shadowscale Boots
* Dragonscale Cloak
* Crown of the Beast

2.)
* Barbed Shadowscale Boots
* Dragonscale Cloak
* Blessed Gloves of the Banishment

3.)
* Barbed Shadowscale Boots
* Dragonscale Cloak
* Crown of the Beast

4.)
* Barbed Shadowscale Boots
* Coiled Dragon Sinew
* Staff of Direction

5.)
* Sensei's Gift
* Blessed Gloves of the Banishment
* Dagger of Direction

6.)
* Barbed Shadowscale Boots
* Dragonscale Cloak
* Greaves of the Ancient

7.)
* Barbed Shadowscale Boots
* Dragonscale Cloak
* Sensei's Gift

Boots on 6 of the 7 kills, cloak on 5 of the 7 kills. This items appear to be way too common. Could a Dev please look into his drop table and see if these items are tweaked a little too high? I'll accept if it's working as intended, but please take a look and see that that is the case. Thank you.

I now hate you....

5 Times raided him...

No Boots.... no Cloak....

It might be worth looking into but I fear its just another case of the RNG Screwing someone over :keke:

If he dropped the drum/bag more often then less and less people would attempt him!

The chance is what drives them

Just because it's an RNG doesn't mean there's equal chance for all items =) Like most mobs, I assume he has more common and less common items.

This seems a bit excessive, though, if it's even remotely representative of the probabilities.

His loot table is also a bit special because instead of any 3 items he drops 1 item from each of 3 different tables.

The boots are just a twist of the RNG but the cloak is quite common.

Ok, thank you for checking into it.

I'm not so much "checking into it" as "clarifying why his loot may not seem entirely random"

i know its kinda a pain, but what do you think of the idea of having an NPC that will change your loot for something else within that loot table.

Just that... due to the level restriction on traek, its not like some other mob where you can just walk in, kill, wait 5 days for a respawn, and still progress in the mean time. It may take an enchanter 8 empress kills to get a runerobe, but they don't have to stop progressing to reserve their availability to get the robe.

If that sounds too easy, then what about an NPC who will give you loot back at diminishing returns... 2 of X for 1 of whatever you want?

No.

Hey Wiz, I want to say that something is broken here. Unless you have items on multiple tables.

Tonights kill dropped the following.

[*]Barbed Shadowscale Boots
[*]Barbed Shadowscale Boots
[*]Black Headband of War

Yes, 2 boots. Check Argost & Eldukay's loot records to verify that they both got boots tonight (Aug 26th)

Thanks.

Well, not necessarily broken. It's possible for the boots to be a part of 2 different loot tables, hence they would have the possibility to drop twice in a kill. Many raid mobs work in this fashion, and it's not all that uncommon to see a mob drop 2 of the same items.
