I literally logged last night being half an orange away from my level, and now I log on today and have an absolute empty exp bar. Being level 58 and a semi-casual gamer this is just devastating since my exp isn't exactly flowing like wine. I mean, to just say we have to deal with it is a bit harsh, and I didn't even lose a bub or 2, I'm practically losing an entire level because I was so close. This just hurts, and, not only that, but even Sony Online would compensate when they had problems (although I never had one this bad). I really hate to think this is just gonna be left at "This cannot be helped" considering I just lost a good amount of my time.
Is there really nothing to do about the exp loss?

That just rubbed me the wrong way ... maybe I am just overly sensitive? This is not SoE! This is SoD ...
Have you contacted a GM via /petition? Or are you assuming the worst? If this IS the case ... xp really does go quite a bit quicker on this server than it did on live. Maybe I am just very optimistic (having a bit more time to play)? *shrug*

Don't get me wrong, SOD is a good server and it's faster, which is why I play it. Also, I never thought this was SOE, but perhaps it was a bit "low blow" of sorts since SOD PR is way better than Sony, but even Sony dealt with exp loss in my experience.
Liam, I did not petition because I know the MOTD said it's not gonna be fixed, and I didn't want to flood the petitions (which I hear is a problem). I went here since it could be solved at one's leisure.
Oh, and I was level 58 when this happend, and half a bub from 59 (as of last night a little after the message that said 20minutes to patch, and Wiz was talking about 5am EST). Currently, I have no exp into 58, but my AA is unaffected.

There really is no way to fix/determine the exact impact of sweeping changes to the EXP calcs, and the changes needed to happen. I'm really sorry you lost exp, I understand that probably sucks extremely majorly, but we can't keep from doing needed changes because it sucks for someone/some people.

Well, as I just told a fellow online mate, I know changes have to happen and I'm not gonna argue that. But also, if I was an exception, and I was "given" 59 it really wouldn't be much much more than what I already had earned. If you could, I don't care if you just put me back to where I was last night, because as I alraedy stated I could taste 59 but had to call it since the servers were coming down.

Thanks Hooden, that makes me feel a bit better. Sounds like it was uniform, rather than something like "all xp in the current level was truncated". Just don't want her to fall any further behind the rest of the group.

You might be alright, I logged on my friend's guy since I know he was holding out on dinging until tomorrow night, and he still had almost a full bar of exp.

I lost a good amount of xp too ... on BOTH toons, but it's not like the staff announced there will be no more SoD, or that all the toons armor and sto0f was lost to a misfortunate wipe!!!! So why keep posting "I lost xp ... *cries*" ?
;( Ouch. I was less than a tenth of a yellow bub from 43 when I camped last night and also lost all my exp in my current level. I know that's that not nearly as much as loss in time investment as the higher levels here report, but it still is painful, especially being so close to the next level. Oh well, I guess...

I was informed by a GM that the loss was due to not using /camp or /cmd save (and instead just using /quit). If this is truly the case, couldn't the admins just give the playerbase a few days heads up that a major exp calc change is coming so that characters can be safely logged???? :?
I tend to solo alot (i.e. slow exp), for RL reasons (honey-do's), and losing that much time invested just hurts.
