Is there anyway to know if the server is down?

I have been trying to get into the game, but when I get to the login page, I put my info in and then I get a box that says a timeout has occured. Is the server down or something else happening?

Server status is always displayed in the status line of the #sod IRC channel. This is the authoritative source AFAIK.

I was able to fix it myself. I just reran the "patch all" option under the SoD patcher advanced tab.

As for IRC, I don't use it. I don't even have an IRC program on my computer.

It might be a good thing to invest in the few mins it take to download and set up mIRC. It's a great resource for not only server up/down infos, but asking questions etc. of others in the community.

I've never used any of the other programs, but mIRC is definately easy for a first time IRC user like myself.

I'm like a monkey at the keyboard and I was able to figure out Chatzilla for Firefox. It's not difficult to figure out

I will look into Chatzilla then as I don't really have the money to put out for mIRC. Which is the main reason that I don't use it. So Chatzilla will connect to the same chat areas that mIRC does?

You can use mIRC without paying, you'll only have to deal with reminder pop-ups and such.
