Cant seem to find a definate answer... ive heard yes and no in-game so i was wondering if theres an officially official answer out there? Do melee's get a dmg bonus based on their level? Also is there a different one for 2hnd weapons ?

I seem to remember the answer being yes, but it scales to delay so there is no ridiculous advantage to faster weapons like there was on Live. So, 5/10 should be the same DPS as 10/20. I don't know about the difference b/w 1h and 2h.

Not a live style bonus no, essentially your max hit is your weapon's damage * derivative based on your ATK

Since ATK raises with level, damage does too.

Is there a forumla like that for the lower end dmg as well ? Having played EQ live for so long, its hard to wrap my brain around another type of weapon comparison that dosent display DPS (daoc, wow, etc) .

It would be the same formula, would it not?

I've found that it's not so much that these things are hard to wrap my mind around as it is simply the fact that there is much less information known and available. ;)

There's no damage bonus in accordance to Live, where a 1/2 weapon would be vastly superior to a 50/100 weapon, both in terms of damage and taunt.

Here, the only difference is taunt. Hope this helps.

We discussed this in the Newbie-guild, think this thread is a result. Question was, which weapon to wield in primary. Someone stated fastest, but I said best ratio, which is probably the better solution without damage bonus.

The most damage would be caused by putting the best ratio weapon in primary. If DPS is the only concern, this is what you want to do.

If delay-sensitive things like taunt, mob ripostes, and/or damage shields are a concern, then you have to give it some thought.
