Is SoD using any of EQ's graphical updates?

Hello all,

I was wondering if SoD had the graphic update tat the original EQ received with it’s expansions. I recall playing Winter’s Roar and that did not use the new NPC/terrain models that EQ had.

Now I am not huge into graphics, but they do help me get immersed into the game a bit faster.

I looked for screenshots at the web site but could not find anything.

if you mean the luclin models they are an optional thing, some things are old school EQ still, and some things are new.

i think its best if you just log on and see for yourself

There were a few graphic updates during GOD but nothing substantial. That is where our client currently stands.

Cool! That is what I wanted to know. I just recall how spiffy Freeport looked after the updates that it received. The textures were just a lot cleaner than they used to be.

Guess now I have to dig up my EQ CD's...

If you're referring to the Prophecy of Ro re-make of Freeport, that's not on SoD.

new freeport was to damn confusing anyway. old graphics > new graphics

PoR expansion also had a basic texture upgraded package that was optional. It was a nice upgrade, but of course that is also not in SoD.

Amen to that I honestly can't stand the new spell graphics either, as far as that goes. I'm so glad that there's a way to get the old ones.

Yep thank you, that is what I am talking about. Darn I guess I am the only one that liked the new graphics, and the new Freeport. SoD has the old school EQ graphics which are not bad, but not exactly the best.
Oh well, at least the game is still fun!

Are there any patches/mods I can use that up the graphics a bit? I don't really like the jaggy look of some of the terrain/models.
