So I connected once to winters roar to see what was custom about it. I see the warning about getting booted in 60 secs. So I go to the website, read everything, follow the instructions and all.

When I finished reading it all, I get pumped up about playing. I haven't been able to connnect yet. Is there anything special I need to do?

Usually it drops me to the EQ intro screen.

So when you log in, do you still have 60 seconds before you get booted again? If so, you should type in:

/say #flag

and then. . .

/say #doapproval

I think thats the order they go in, if not, just type doapporval first, and then flag second.
 
Well, I can't even connect to the char screen. Once I can actually connect to the character screen and I make a character I will make sure I do #doapproval and #flag
 
It's not just you, I get the same thing. Instant CTD after server select, no error. Error after server select but before char select during loading. Massive 1017s. Nothing known to fix them, just gotta keep trying :(
 
Hmm, ok thanks. I looked on the website under the "server updates" and the gears aren't turning, which would indicate the server being down.

I just wasn't sure that was working.
 
Thanks to you 2 that have posted, you've been great. I noticed it is pretty random. I will try tomorrow for sure!! I can't wait to play! Good night everyone :)
 
I doubt my solution works with anyone other than me, but I'll try it anyway.

If you get this problem first restart your internet connection. Then at the server select screen, click the play button to enter the server instead of hitting the 'enter' key.

Almost surefire fix for me, for some odd reason. Dunno how well it works with the rest of the population.

Can someone tell me *if* I get in, is the server generally stable?
 
From what i've been told, since they updated the server from 4.4 to 5.0, there's been a lot of issues and stability problems. I'm sure they'll iron it out soon and if they can't they'll roll back to 4.4. Just give it time. :)
 
Alright - I really haven't looked into the server versions or anything, but a lot of the servers I see are DR3 and WR is DR2, does that make a difference?
 
We're not rolling back to 4.4. If Wiz even considers it, I'm going to swim across the Atlantic all the way to Sweden and throw a pie in his face. A pie made of knives.

Ha, thanks for all the help. I got on a couple times tonight, unfortunetly it was late and I had homework and cards to play :(

But I still made it to 7, wuwu. Anyway its fun so far :)
