is it hard to find a group?

I finally got around to getting my hands on a set of EQ platinum disks so I could play SoD. I prefer grouping to soloing. Which brings me to the question how hard is it to find groups from early in the game? I played a rogue for a long time on live and would prefer to play one on here. But if groups are hard to come by soloing a rogue is a long slow road.

a lot of times ive found it necessary to be really aggressive in forming a group, /oocing for a group is often not enough

I started pushing reaching out to anyone and everyone. I would rather do that than not get a group and so far its been working really well. I will say grouping at lower levels here can be a huge pain in the ass i noticed i was like the only new guy leveling up when i met anyone that was grinding with me so keep that in mind but its been like 2 weeks here and im almost 65 its not bad but there were days i had to solo, lucky for me im a bard.

You can get groups easily, you just have to instigate them. There will be some days where you just cannot find a healer or a tank, but more often than not you end up meeting regulars of your level/ playing time. It's worked for 5 characters so far, boxed granted, but from presonal experience i hardly ever ooc i just check there for who is lfg (and they usually dont / lfg) and go with it.

You'd be surprised how often at least half a good group are all /ooc lfg and nobody gets them together. 'looking for more' attracts more attention than 'lfg'

Your best bets are to :

1 ) Box a healer or a tank along with your DPS class

2 ) start the group yourself

That being said, finding group isnt so hard, and there's a lot of things you can do meanwhile anyways.

Also, try "/w all 15 20" or whatever range of players you are looking for and send some tells if you see a few in an XP zone. They may not be watching OOC, but be glad to have you in group if asked.
