is dagger of symbols working as intended?

I just got the spell dagger of symbols, and I cannot equip the dagger in my secondary slot. I have no other weapon in either slot. I have tried auto-equip, and nothing works. The dagger is flagged as primary and secondary, but will only equip to the primary slot.

I was hoping to be able to use my summoned dagger in conjuction with my nice new 1hnd staff but no luck.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

What class are you, or are you trying to equip it with an alt, and if so can he/she dual wield?

It works on my pet in both slots just fine.

Assuming mage
 
Mages can't dual wield, you need the dual wield skill to equip a weapon in your offhand.
