is clerics the most needed class

If the original question was are clerics one of the most useful classes, then yes. If it's more around what the server is lacking, there seem to be quite a few floating around. Not that it's at all scientific, but if you look at the signups for Junius' pickup raid here, there are more clerics signed up than any other class.

Jokes apart, I am more of the healer type. I am able to stay hours staring at a wall and hps bars ( not what I prefer, but I can), but I am not able to always looks at that fat ass and press backstab.
Otherwise, I just duo chars, that way I get a bit of each. Maybe I should have gone for Beastlord/Cleric, but I am too lazy to restart from scratch.

Tried Enchanter? Not the healing type of char but the ultimate tool char.

We don't need -any- more botted clerics. A mained druid or shaman is just as good, maybe even better, than a botted cleric for healing, but a mained enchanter is probably more valuable right now than a mained cleric. Not due to a lack of them, but due to the overwhelming availability of healers, botted or otherwise. Bards that group prior to the 60's is never unappreciated, as are more DPS classes, either. The things we don't need are mained tanks or the botted healers that tend to accompany them, in my opinion.

I would say pick whatever you think is fun. Later on there will be plenty of opportunity to take over a character etc if you get into a guild if you find yourself not enjoying it. There are at least 3 or 4 people I know of at the moment in various guilds looking for someone competent to take over pretty decent toons.
