now im getting the message when i try to join. no matter what nick I try i get the msg. ive tried a general name and like 4 different names from the chars I have on the game. nada still get the below msg

Yes, #sod HOWEVER you have to have registered your nick to be able to enter.

/msg nickserv register (email) (password)

then after each additional login:

/msg nickserv identify (password)

there were a few irc bots in #sod hat kept booting people. Who knows if that is related to getting knocked off irc totally.

Just like for the previous IRC server, I am registered as Assertor apparently, but it asks for password identification, and it doesn't accept my password for some reason...no the keyboard is not in caps lock, and my password is always the same for all applications and websites (yeah I shouldn't do that ). I'm sure I'm registered cause when I try to "/msg nickserv register *email* *password* " it says my nick is already registered... Only thing I see is I'm using Chatzilla, anything wrong with it ?

The fact that your nick is already registered has nothing to do with your password. Maybe you should just shorted your nick a bit to uhm... Ass! And then re-register

Thx for that nasty comment Beittil *grin* but I found out that the link for the new IRC server didnt put me straight into #sod channel ... should have checked that first now I can connect with any name.

Instead of starting a new thread I'll just reply here ....

My husband just set up BitchX on my computer so that I can log onto IRC ... Are there any rules/regulations that I should be aware of before using the #sod channel? Is the channel set up for lax conversation about anything? Pertaining only to SoD? Are you allowed to msg a GM w/o getting banned (from the game -- not that I would ... just curious how this works)? Can I traffic illegal files there? :lol: JK!!! *ducks*
