IRC nickserv

You can do the same thing with "/NickServ GHOST nickname YourPasswordHere" it will kick them off and you can change your nick back.
 
Thats not what hes asking for.

He wants a nick thats registered and has someone on it who does not identify kicked.

Which is, in my opinion, silly, because you have to log off for someone to squat on your name, and as soon as you are back on, you ghost them, on top of that, this isnt an undernet network, there is little in the way of irc asshattery.
 
True that you can ghost them, but why even give someone the opportunity to use a registered nick.

It's just a matter of personal preference really, I'm just interested to know why it was disabled recently
