can you remove the enormous penalty inflicted on mages whenever thet have to invis.

No other class is expected to lose 6 pieces of armour, 6 buffs, 2 weapons and a pet each time to invis - so why hit mages so hard.

As I never actually claimed that mage was the sole class to be affected by the loss of pet, I am at a loss to understand what point the above posters are actually making.

Indeed the fact that other classes would benefit is a point in favour of addressing the issue.

The points I was actually making were
(a) There are many classes for which there is no penalty for invis whereas as pet owners are clearly disadvantaged

(b) Within pet owners mage pets represent the highest proportion of their owner's abilities and hence they are hit the hardest by their loss.

(c) If you took a poll of mages I am sure you would find the implementation of invis is overwhelmingly disliked.

(d) From a personal (read entirely selfish) point of view eliminating the loss of pet is the single most important issue for me. It is far more important (to me) than say the introduction of Ikisith as from my admittedly limited experience I cannot see myself going there (no pun intended) with invis as currently implemented.

Bst pet is easily half the bst's dps. While I won't have the array of summoned gear on my pet, it still sucks to resummon/rebuff, and lose half of my effectiveness in the meanwhile.

Most mages fucking hate invis, and generally dislike any zone that requires it. It's just another of the things that conspire to the point where we cannot expect to do even a tenth of the things duo that a melee could.

I have not spoken to other Beastlords, but Ranseur seems to feel the same as me. I will quit an EXP group if it means I have to lose my raid buffed and mage summoned gear equipped pet.

Then there's always the idiot who casts invis on you without warning. Or bards who just looooove turning you invisible for no reason at all.

seconded, but altered to reflect my class.

given that SoD is not really a PvP place, and it can be rough for pets to tank mobs without any help from the owner, why do pets disappear?

could have that second pet thing from live as a new tome. Except you cant have a pet out and have a pet waiting. This will make it so that you can "save" the pet during invis situations. If you summon another pet while 1 is being "saved" the saved one poofs.

This would make the game no different from now except you can invis and resummon the same pet.

I always thought it was kind of cheesy that casting IVU on the pet's master makes non-undead pets poof. At the very least why do these specialized invis spells trigger pets that are not of that type to vanish - they should still be able to see you.

Bst's lose whatever gear their pet had, and can't summon more. And with us, it's more like 10+ buffs.

Your OP should have been more focused on the 3 primary pet classes, if only to eliminate people from thinking you were whining only about mages.

For the record, I agree that this code is a poor implementation. Maybe there could be an additional tome or spell that grants a "pet-friendly" invis.

I sign under this. If the groups gets Herbert Emberflow gear and raid buffs, I'm willing to close one eye, but still frown.

what about shammy and enchanters pets??? i play a bard... we are only "60%" of all classes so when we can dominated a class... (cast invis kill pet) we do :^)~

But on a serious note (pun intended) i can see how this is annoying and as Kazimir said maybe adding a tome would be a good idea for pet classes... (top 3 pet classes that is)

I still think it's funny BSTs will ignore insane XP group if they get invised by accident or on purpose. Goes to show the Mental intellect or lack thereof. Why not just sit on your asses and cry about it in group chat until you get kicked or something ? Way productive.

If a group wants me to stick around badly enough, even after they've cause my pet to vanish, then they obviously want me for something besides 100% of my DPS. It's all good.
