Intalling issues GAHHHH

Ok i screwed up the first time by unzipping EQ without winzip which is supposedly the reason why i was getting corrupted files....

so i deleated the file and re-dled the file and set winzip as default....

now during install im getting CRC errors?? it says somthing might be wrong with my medium???

any help is appreciated but i might have to contact IGN with this i guess..

i want to add i purchased it on IGN probably 9 months ago and DLed it back then...

its still giving me fresh keys though and is allowing me to DL it so idk what the problem is..

Might be your HD, but if that's the case you'd probably be having all kinds of other fun issues.

I'd try 1 more download on a different PC if you can, work, a friends, whatev.

If you're stuck on your PC with no options, make sure you clear your browser cache and try it 1 more time.

It's possible IGN's source is just corrupt tho.

how do i clear my browser cache??

it will be difficult to dl it somewhere else anytime soon but ill try if this next attempt fails...

im not having any other problems with my pc..

is there a DL or time limit on DL's from IGN?? i didnt think there was with my purhcase??

I see.

If you're deleting EQ_TAE_dd.zip (not just the folder by the same name), and it's taking that downloader thingamajig a good couple hours to re-download the file (meaning it's not cached, it's really getting a whole new one), and you've done that 2 or 3 times with no other known file integrity issues on your PC, that's a strong case in favor of IGN distributing a fubar file.

as far as the file goes i Dled it and ran it about 9 months ago when i first purchased it fine..

I'd bug IGN.

...are you sure EQ's not still installed somewhere on your PC from 9 months ago?

You could try running your corrupted .zip through this zip repair thing while you wait (up to you, it seems to google around as a lagit/innocent freeware utility). It may or may not be able to fix your file, I dunno.

i tried the zip fixer and it didnt work

ign responded and told me basically to delete all my internet files and re-dl it using firefox...

im going to dl it at a buddies house some time this week as you suggested to see if its the file or something with my settings.... if its me then ima just save the file to my external hd and bring it home and if its the file than i know ign needs to provide me with a new one... ill kill 2 birds with one stone and should be online soon...

ok well i succesfully Dled it finally and unzipped it... i got one error during the extraction so i just ignored it lol... i ran the patcher fine and logged in and completed the dream the other night...
