This is a request which ties forums to the community over time. I've noticed that a lot of current posts are bringing up recurring themes which have been in discussion for years but never get anywhere. In my professional life and elsewhere, one of the reasons I've seen good ideas often fall by the wayside is because their advocates move on to other things, and there isn't someone actively bringing them to the surface. In this case, this could be a guild, player, or dev responsible for initiating discussion on a particular issue is no longer around or working on it.
What I am thinking is to create either a board or sub-board for institutional memory. The board would basically be a clearing house for good ideas that have been discussed in the past but not yet dealt with. Here is what I would propose.

- Top post should be a sticky which asks for requests for quality posts relating to oft-mentioned topics.
- New topics are created by moderators in response to replies the stickied post. Those replies should get turned by the mods into a discussion around a particular issue as its own topic (similar to how mods create posts on balancing discussion).
- Replies these topics should be in the form of a summary of a past post which briefly state the pertinent content, provide some sort of context to the current meta, and give links to old posts for future research.
- Threads are moderated to remove discussion which does not actively contribute to the topic.
