installation---16 bit subsystem

ok i tried to install EQ on my laptop(which coincidentally is more powerful than the comp i have EQ on already) but it wont even let me enter setup because of error---16 bit subsystem that does not want to use msdos or windows applications...is this a setting or something i can change or is it impossible to put EQ on that laptop?

This may or may not be the answer but it sounds like you might be running Windows NT?

If that is so, it is the problem. Everquest will not run on NT.

You can however setup a dual boot with windows 98, 2000, ME or XP and play it that way.

ok it says im running XP on my laptop...but first question...what is windows NT...second how do i dual boot?

I had a similar problem earlier. It could be caused by a semi-harmful virus

like the one I have right now.
