Incorporeal Arachnid Limb

This weapon drops off of Arbiter of Air. Currently, it is 10/16 with 4 Magic Damage. However, with the magic damage being consistently resisted, its DPS is really lacking, and Ive been told it basically parses at 10-11dmg/16dly. (I dont have numbers atm but plan to do some parsing on my own). If these figures are accurate, however, than it is safe to say this weapon is worse than Needle-Fist, and pretty much on par with the DHK set of fists and rymaz 1hb (Rymaz has a proc as well)

I don't think it would be unreasonable to make this weapon 12/16 with one magic damage.

Also, the argument could arise that it can be used as a range item as well. It would be sorely lacking the the range department as well, having no AC. The 2% crit strike doesnt seem to be much of a redeeming factor, either.

I'll parse it against rymaz 1hb/needle-fist/skywatchers fist and post the numbers.

You can't compare monk-only weapons to weapons usable by more other melee.

Lufia parses 20dps lower while using this compared with Stormrazor, for one. I know that Noth uses Motec fist/Ylaak 1hb over this as well. Also, I dont think it is too off the wall to assume that a 0 weight 1hb weapon would primarily be used by monks or beastlords, since slashing/piercing would be used more often by bards/rangers and rogues respectively, and agro weapons would be used in the offhand of warriors with slashing mainhand (unless you have tonfa :p )

I'm not saying otherwise but you can't compare a mnk/bst weapon to a weapon that many classes can use because the ratio is going to be considerably better on the monk weapon even across tiers. It would need to be compared to something similar (ie, (Lufia w/ stormrazor v. Lufia w/ Limb) v (Onos w/ Rymaz v. Onos w/ Limb) because in the latter case, it makes the end result seem much more skewed (tier 3 outperforms tier 6 as opposed to tier 5 outperforms tier 6).

BUT I DIGRESS! Considering that the weapon is essentially modified by your charisma (ie, resists), it's reasonable to assume it won't perform up to par. Please post parses.

Weapon arguments aside, there's really no reason for the classes listed on it to use it as a RANGED over the Severed Black Tongue from Torment, which drops off a considerably easier mob. The resists are marginally better, you LOSE

+10AGI +14DEX +100HP +100MANA +12MR +2% Crit
vs.
Aura of Battle (Bypasses ATK Cap, which is really the only thing that matters are our level)
+12DEX +25CHA +95HP +13MR +2% Crit +5% Stun +11% Sense Traps

The only argument I can see here is that it is a more versatile item in that it can be placed in Ranged or Offhand/Pri, but to be honest, the Arms which drop off of the same mob can be used in Arms/Back and are better than any item up to CoD/CMal4 in either slot.

When looking at the classes that may use it in ranged, it goes as follows:
RNG - Use bows exclusively
WAR/MNK/BST - Can use Statuette of Raging Storm which is much higher AC, HP, and Stats and drops off a mob that is at least a tier easier, possibly two. Only downside for MNK/BST is the weight, but I believe the 0.0 on the Arachnid Limb is a bugged weight. Could be wrong.
BRD/ROG - Can use Severed Black Tongue for obvious DPS increase from aura of battle as well as stun resist, trap detect

While it is nice to have +crit on an offhand at that point, every player can easily max Crit in a number of other slots that are actually superior. I'll post parses of it from a melee dps-weapon standpoint. When I was doing all of my DPS tests for last patch, I was seeing between 40-60 from it, usually in the 40 range whereas Stormrazor easily surpasses 80 on nearly every fight.
