Iksar Monks.. Darksun headbands

So.. i've completed the iksar monk newbie armor quests (some time ago)..
After giving Master _blank_ the 4 darksun headbands, and receiving my venom claws.. i was told to continue to bring him darksun headbands one at a time to raise my faction..
sense then ive given him over 20 headbands.. each time he says something like 'continue to rise above the pathetic thing that you are' ..nice, and it doesnt actually say my faction has risen at all.. when i talk to the grandmaster, he also insults my skillz and i am still left indifferent to the guild...
any ideas?.. am i doing this all wrong.. should i just keep throwing away headbands at him, wasting my time farming them at this point.. and how many do i need?.. is there even any more iksar monk quests after that last one?..

This quest is broken because monks are now on a different faction than they used to be, and we don't want to raise that faction this way.
