I first attempted to complete the solo Ikisith entry quest roughly two weeks ago, and I was quite surprised by the level of difficulty it entailed. I had read the walkthrough on the Wiki and received advice from guildmates, yet I am still unable to complete the quest- and I have now attempted to do so on seven separate occasions. On each attempt, I have been unable to make it past the patrolling deck hands which roam the deck of the ship. I spoke to several other players about the quest, and was informed that the fog effects which were recently implemented to limit sight distance were a major factor in the newfound difficulty of making it to Prophet’s Landing. Unfortunately, the same fog effects make it nearly impossible to avoid the patrols with any degree of accuracy or reliability- my sight distance is roughly equivalent to the agro radius of the patrolling mobs, meaning that as soon as I see “a deck hand”, I’m quickly on my way to another attempt with a renewed experience debt. While I recognize that being a stow-away is by no means an easy task, without the presence of a DM to allow me to create a distraction or inform me that I hear footsteps approaching, the only signal I have that a sentry is impending is what I can see on my computer monitor- and, without that, I am quite literally flying blind. Consequently, if it is possible to reduce or remove the fog effects while aboard the ship, it would be quite helpful and enormously appreciated. Alternatively, if an emote would appear when a sentry approaches, such as, “You hear footfalls making their way across the deck” or “You hear quiet whistling drift across the cold night air”, it would also be quite useful. Thank you very much for consideration, whether this is something which is changed or not.
