Idol of Manslaughter

I acquired one of these Idol of Manslaughter that has +2 Humanoid Bane Damage on it. At first I wanted to try it out on my 65 rogue in eld's but I noticed no difference. So I handed down to my alt warrior who is 34. I have a Steam-powered autoslicer on him which is a dagger thats 2/6 pristine. I tried the Idol out on some pirates in SoS but noticed no damage difference. Since the autoslicer hits so soft I thought I would be able to see something but nothin. I even tried it with my fists and saw no increase. I even tried it out in a duel with friend. After that I mentioned I was having problems with it in /ooc which I noticed got Dev-Zae's attention. After a little awhile she came back and said she found that the Idol didnt work at all for her either with her damage parsers.

I noticed this and the fire/cold damage on gloves doesn't seem to do anything for h2h damage when I parsed a couple hundred fights killing green gemathians. I didn't expect to see much of a difference, but I expected to hit for minimum less, which didn't happen.

You may want to post the findings of these parses to be taken credibly. It's definitely possible it is broken, but without proof it's just conjecture.

IIRC....someone (don't remember who it was..but I think it was staff) stated that the bane damage such as the Idol of Manslaughter only applies if the weapon you are using has that bane dmg already. Reason being...everyone and their mothers could get any weapon up to a higher ratio than what they were made for just by using the Idol of Man. I mean seriously....a ton of mobs in SoD are "humanoid"...basically if its on two feet it counts. So why wouldn't EVERYONE be using one of these if it worked like you believe (and how it was being discussed in /ooc last night)? Esp. for rogues this would be very unbalanced......a rogue's backstab dagger would essentially be two more damage which is huge.

I MIGHT BE WRONG ON THIS>>>> But I vaguely remember this being discussed, and the argument is sound IMO.

I remember this because I was bummed out and sold my Idol I had on my rogue alt =P

Lets put this one to bed please. Offical ruling?

If people have high doubts on several items like these it's worth a lookat, it might all be the same problem - though bane stuff sounds like a seperate problem (does rogue poison crucible really work btw ?)

If you have doubts then parse it yourself. If your parses show anything then we can run some official parses. That is how it works. Staff doesn't just look into stuff because a few people feel it might not work right. You need proof.

I just did some quick testing on about 40 gemathians and the +2 humanoid netted me (insignificant) +1.3% dps, the +2 cold damage gloves in addition to the +2 humanoid netted +15% dps with bare fists. It's obviously not enough to come to any conclusion but preliminarily shows the cold damage on render fin gloves might be working as expected and the humanoid damage apparently isn't.

40 examples are a bit too low to test soemthing that should add just a bit of dps imo

2 damage on a weapon that is 13 damage is 15%, about what I parsed. That's more than a bit. I got a clear consistent trend with only that many kills, so it should be easy to prove if someone has the time.

Good lord, don't you guys search for this stuff before you post?

idol of manslaughter scales with weapon delay.
