Is there anyway the server to client idle connection response timer or whatever could be increased? Or something. Anything to lower the rate of disconnections by a large amount, because right now it is, and has always been, insane. Is there a way to make the client keep trying to reconnect to the server without having to go back to the character screen? Or on the opposite side, a way for the server to not time out the connections so quickly as to prevent disconnection in the first place?
For example there seems to be a big weakness in how connections are made and kept why zoning. I know nothing but that 99% of disconnects for everyone I know that plays (with slower zoning computers) disconnect during the zoning process. Is there a way to prevent this?
Could we either from the server or client end or both, force one or both sides to stay connected longer, especially during zoning, and in the case that data is no longer able to be sent for however long, have the ability to recontinue that senquence without having to restart the connection from scratch.
It seems that while playing I can go through some pretty bad lag spikes without disconnecting. However, when zoning it seems I don't have this level of protection. A quick zoning comuter seems to almost never get disconnected. Where as wtih a slow computer it seems you have much longer amount of time for something to go wrong and no protection against it. Why?
