I've thought a lot about this, and I think I have a pretty good tome idea.
Noncritical Focus: This tome increases the damage of noncritical spells costing over 300 mana by 2/3/4/5%. It can stack up to a total enhancement of 25%.
eg: I have rank two done. I nuke(noncrit) and my spell does 103% of normal damage. I dont crit on my 2nd nuke and do 106% damage. I don't crit on my 3rd nuke and do 109% damage. My fourth nuke crits and does 200% damage. 5th is noncrit and does 103% again. Potentially, you could stack up to 125% damage.
Explanation: Wait?! Aren't wizards already really good?!? Nope. Solosolki is really good. Wizards are actually a very weak class from t2 to t9, they only get really good when their manapool is large enough to last through raid fights, and they have enough crit through gear/tome/AAs, and most importantly AoD. On my average raid, over 80% of my damage is from crit/ult blasts. I very rarely go two casts in a row without a crit. This means that rank 4 of this tome would provide about a 1% boost to a t13 aod'd wizard. It would give me little more boost when I don't have aod(which means im not king dps at the time).
The really cool thing is that it helps lower tier wizards far more. Most wizards on this server have their crit AAs done, but not crit tomes, and they may or may not have 7% from a charm. This puts them in the 15-25% crit range, so it wouldn't be uncommon to see them go 3-4 or more nukes in a row without a crit, giving this tome the potential to add a decent boost to their total dps.
Its kind of crazy how reliant wizards are on crits. I have seen raid fights where I do 500 dps because I had bad luck. I've also seen raid fights where I do 3000 dps (without vah) due to really lucky crits. This tome is good because it would help provide a boost when a wizard is getting unlucky, which affects lower tier wizards far far more than the few of us at the top who don't need a big dps boost. The 300 mana cost restriction is needed to make sure it does not become advantageous for a wizard to NOT wear a crit bracer and/or cast 5 mana nukes.
