Hi all,

i saw last few days discussion about what is really a raid important class.

Now i dont find it anymore ...

I understand Wizards, Rogues and Clerics are very important.

But what is about Ranjas, Monks, Sks, Paladins, Beastlords, Mages, Warriors, Bards?

Just curious.

All classes have a place on raids. The lack of any class could make or break a raid. The thing is: some classes work better in higher numbers than others. Also if you're going to have more than 36 people, some classes are more valuable than others. If 40 people show up to your raid, and you need to trim the fat, you'd probably stick to one SK, beastlord, paladin, shaman in order to get your numbers down to 36. This isn't an issue if less than 36 people show up. I can't see people being turned away from a raid unless they're going to be a liability of some kind.

Paladins as it has been stated b4 are useless on raids you can in theory just log one on buff SSS and log him off and be no worse for the wear.

Warriors are essential for any good raid as they have better dmg mitigation with thier stances and generally hold good aggro.

SKs are limited like paladins but they do have hate buffs and are needed to tank certian encounters.

Mages are great for raids missing one on a raid wont kill you but the mod rods and other summoned items and DS are great, they also have good dps.

Rangers are great dps. Also attack buffs.

Monks you need for pulling splitting they also have dps.

Bards are very important to raids they can do anything, if they are good (shout out to foma and ginam!) despite the "negative/bard nerf" changes they still do very well on raids.

Beastlords have a number of good buffs for atk,hp,all stats. They can slow as well if needed and they have good dps.

Just my 2 cents.

t was removed by staff iirc , class balance as an issue seems to be a lark if staff tells you certain class's arent needed or useful on raids.
as for paladins they are mainline battle clerics.

I'm used to the heavy handed approach to locking threads; feels like a new level for them to actually remove the entire thread.

I think he meant AOE healing the melees in the event of an AE or something along those lines.

indeed rab, btw nice discrete zing namrecka, You still do children shows with those jokes? As for Paladins they are very useful for more than buff bots.

!

Thx folks,

this is a bit a answer. Balancing is a hard thing, i know.
But if ppl asking for this kind of things maybe also there will be a bit of change.

I can still dream *G*

was not meant as a zing. along time ago on live, people used to battle rez to try to salvage a raid, that is what I meant. christ, you get too defensive.

It started in the bards thread but someone started a new thread on the topic after the bards got cranky at the hijinx. It has indeed been removed.

They were more like shenanigans rather then hijinx.
Non-bards :D

There has been developer agreement that pally aggro may warrant some retooling. If that is done, pallies may well become a valid option for some enounters. As things stand now, though, you're probably better off with an extra padder/group healer--they can serve the same function as a paladin for aoe healing, and will likely have a much better mana pool to pad the tank. Assuming you've got a serious raid force, a pally's DPS, even with top of the line gear, will be insignificant. Of course, that's all assuming you have a real tank and don't wind up with a pally for the guild's MT =P

Speaking from the high level, mid tier guild perspective, DPS is a big priority. Clerics are, of course, always handy. Wizards and rogues are probably of the most interest to us at the moment, though.
