Croix Fantastic
Dalayan Beginner
I don't know why I ever kept playing s2k when SoD returned. The ease of it does not make up for the asshats in game that are inevitably encountered.
Anyway, if anyone plays there, here was my gripe, posted on their "boards."
"Where should I start? I played Winters Roar (now Shards of Dalaya) after quitting live. I had grown tired of the breed of players starting. Ones who constantly judged others on ability and loot rather than quality of character. In Winters Roar I found people who could understand others even if they were 65 with 1000 aa's and their friend was a level 2 necro trying to learn how to play. Unfortunately, Winter's Roar was shutdown, and many thought this to be permanent. That brings me from one good experience with an EMU, to what I hoped would be a similar experience on Scorpious2k.
After slowly reaching level 130 and going through the motions of attemting to gear my character, I slowly realized that the good people I encountered (Korn and his incarnations, Truenote, Frenzy, Kickers, Unholycow to name a few, and I am sorry to those I forgot) were heavily outweighed by the snotty, conceited and just plain mean. What is worse, is that these people basically own the server and high end mobs. What is the point of a G-Rated server when ridicule and constant taunting is allowed so freely? Does being cussed at do more damage to people than being excluded or made fun of for their guild or equipment? And what are the point of GMs when the good ones arent on enough to police the rude ones... GMs that have "legit" characters leading guilds that selfishly shove their way into each of the few high end encounters available.
I have no problem with the content of Scorpious. I think the gameplay is far more enjoyable and just plain fun. I also do appreciate the work Scorpious and the legit GMs put into it. But it is impossible to have fun when you are constantly impeded and frustrated by people being jerks just to prove how good they are at a game.
I left EQ to get away from things enviroments like this, and ultimately I chose Scorpious over Live after WR was shutdown to find a better one. All this server has accomplished is taking the population of Live and shrinking it to an extremely intimate scale, making it impossible to avoid the jerks.
So now I am leaving Scorpious, and I dont expect any tears, I expect more "Who the hell is that?"'s. Because nobody I know in real life plays anymore, and I suppose I am too much of a noob for anyone in game to want my account, he will remain unplayed. I appreciate Korn and True and Frenzy and all the members of Fatal Strike that actually sought to help one another. I also appreciate the work put into the server and the good ideas to make it fun, and I know there is no way to keep the population clean on a server dependent on them... I only wish their was.
My name was Dinosaurs in game, and I play as Croix and Onos on Shards of Dalaya. I wish this server the best of luck, and hope more enjoyable people start playing it. If you disagree with me, sorry for wasting your time with the post. I had to get it off my chest. To everyone I enjoyed playing with, have a good time. To everyone else... stay l33t."
I look foward to seeing people in game, cause I'll be on a lot more often now that I have that behind me. Also, thanks a ton to Wiz and everyone, and to the community. I really didnt realize how unique of an EQ enviroment it was until.
And sorry for the randomness.
