Huntable/questable stuff for a 20 Ranger

Minerios

Dalayan Adventurer
Hello everybody,

Well, my Fomelo profile is in my signature. I am looking for suggestions on gear that can be hunted/quested at my level, either solo or with a party. I am *NOT* looking for stuff to buy, only things that are attainable on the battlegrounds at my level.

I am especially looking for the following:
-An ear piece;
-Any piece to replace one of my non-stat gear (no soft leather, I don't think the huge loss of AC is worth the extra stats as I routinely get hit while soloing/duoing);
-Decent weapons of the 1hb and 2hs variety

Regarding weapons, I use Sword of Steamfont for 1hs, Yardkeeper's Shovel for 2hb and Yarkdkeeper's Knife for piercing. Nothing uber, but it gets me by. I'd just like something better than common vendor loot for 1hb and 2hs.

I am a level 20 Half-Elf Ranger who is not afraid of travel and nasty places.

Named Everforst orc, Sash of the tundra, other things.

There is rumor of an earring arround the mines area of Fearstone, but I have yet to acquire it.

Fearstone Castle, the Terror Master spawns commonly and drops three items you can use...

Vest of Dark Scales, AC15 chest with better stats
Blacken Armbands, AC12 arms
Hammer of Thirsting Souls, 9/25 lifetap 1hb

Behind him is the Darkscale, with the awesome looking but stat lite 1hb for casters.

You really might want to consider a gemmed tradeskill made dagger. They are cheap, and yet hard to replace... 3/10, AC, and a stat or proc. The fire proc is 30 damage. The silver ones add another 2 damage rating to undead, making them 5/10.

DON'T GO TO FEARSTONE SOLO... TAKE A GROUP WITH HEALERS.

THe mobs are old school, come in bunches, and cast/fear/stun/Harm Touch in the 180s. And the 30% ZEM is the best you can find at your level.

Fearstone! Good idea, I hadn't thought of it at all. Yeah, the zone bonus is great, I hunted there for a while in my early teens.

Keep the ideas coming, folks! :)

Silver ones only add 1 to dam for undead, but 4/10 is still stellar, especially with a 30 pt proc. Proc rate isnt high, about 1/ fight. The proc does seem to get resisted a fair amount though.

Mogi dual wields iron ones at 22, I get about 5 procs some fights, 2 procs others, and 3 or 4 at other times. Resist 1 in 10 at level 22, 75 cha, 31 damage. At level 10, I borrowed some money from another character and offered a blacksmith 40pp for a pair. He did not even attempt to haggle. I can usually cap piercing, dual wield, and offense in one fight.

4/10 is still awesome enough that I think I want an upgrade for Kaladim. Maybe I should pick up some Mithrals or Daliums as well.

I mention this because while you really want to get your gear dropped, and I understand that, you can usually sell two or three extra mob drops even to a merchant and pick up a Blacksmithed item that far exceeds the dropped items power at the lower levels.

I am much less adverse to buying tradeskill items than "regular" items. I'm definitely taking the daggers suggestion in consideration. :)
