The 2.5 client handles tree illusions much more economically than previous clients. Tree illusions now grant the same hi-res form regardless of which zone you're in, regardless of what kinds of trees are nearby (if any), and so on.
The catch? The necessary model file is not included with Titanium, and the official SoD patcher does not supply it. The result is that, for most SoD players, anyone under the effects of a tree illusion appears as a male Human buried waist deep in the ground.
I was able to remedy this by pinpointing which file was missing from 2.5 and then yanking it from Steam's EQ Live install:
