How Much does Skill Bonus help??

Been wondering about this, how much does my +25 Dodge Skill bonus really help me?

I rarly see others wearing Defensive skill mob items, unless it was already a very nice item that happens to have the bonus on it already.

One item that I am wearing currently is a Band of Deftness +15 Dodge +10 Agil (I have it aug with AC 4)

I been wondering for awhile.. does this earing/ring really help me that much? or is it like the old Agility myth on live.

Anyone have any hard data showing how much or how little Defensive skill mobs help?
 
I'm surprised Band of Deftness hasn't been nerfed yet to be honest. It was one of the first items I made and I ignorantly put too much of a modifier (and a really good one at that) on it. From what I've heard (although I don't have mathamatical equations or parses to prove anything) it makes a big enough difference for a member of the #1 guild to pay thousands and thousands of plat on maps hoping for one. Good thing he is currently done with SoD, or he'd murder me for bringing up nerfing it! :keke:
 
This is a pretty good question. The extra +25 dodge counts as +25 to your dodge skill cap, but I don't think anyone has done any parses to see exactly how much it helps. People seem to want them a lot (especially stuff like parry mods and block), but I'm curious if they really make that much of a difference.
 
Well, you take the occurrence of parry/dodge/riposte and increase it by 10% if your current skill is 250.

Progression of skills seems linear
 
Thank Jayelle :) I never thought the band was over powered (granted don't know where it comes from). Considering it doesn't really have anything else but the Skill mod.

I've had the Band of Deftness for about 35 Levels now, loged in one morning to a guy selling it for 300pp. So I bought it, been wearing it ever since.

+25 skill giving about +10% seem pretty good to me. I just wonder vs. Other earrings I could wear does the +15 Dodge mod it have make up for lack of other stats and hp boosts. (only wearing earlyer raid and buyable gear Foemlo Azmat if you want to see)

My other +10 Mod is coming from Leggings of Deflection which I plan to wear for some time :)
 
Oh I mispoke, the band I did not make, that has been in game forever! I was thinking of an item I made for tmaps that had a similarly large and really good mod and was confusing the two. :keke:
